Five Top Tips to make networking for physician entrepreneurs a breeze

Having just returned from a wonderful networking opportunity at the Healthcare Bogging Summit in Las Vegas, I am again inspired to share five tips (yes, you may have seen these before!) for successful networking. I truly enjoyed meeting people from across the country, and discovering in what ways they were manifesting their skills and talents. And it underscored for me the distance I have crossed from awkward and superficial businesswoman neophyte, to more adept and comfortable entrepreneur-marketer.

This stuff rocks, when you get it!

The article from May's The Entrepreneurial MD Newsletter is the final in my series on networking, and by now I hope you are convinced that you can do this!

The five top tips are:

1. Attend, with a clear intention in mind. By setting an intention to act upon at your next social or professional gathering, you are more likely to make it happen.

2. Believe in yourself. Learn how to create a 'bragalogue' (or short, enthusiastic, continually updated story showcasing strengths and accomplishments).

3. Be the Memorable Miss Manners poster child. Remember - people do business with people they know, like and trust!

4. Show the Gatekeeper a little love. Respect the power of the executive assistants.

5. Volunteer your help. Be active behind the scenes.

In this article, you will also find the links to the prior articles on championship-level networking, so I invite you to re-read them and remind yourself that good networking is fun, collegial and very productive.

Please share any strides you make, as I'd love to celebrate with you!
