Yay for physician entrepreneurship

The respected Economist has voted in favor of entrepreneurship.
In "A special report on entrepreneurship -- An idea whose time has come", the article touts the rapid growth of technology and the Internet as being at the heart of the entrepreneurial revolution.
Aided and abetted by shows like "The Apprentice".
Two sentences struck me most forcefully:
Another reason for entrepreneurship becoming mainstream is that the social contract between big companies and their employees has been broken.
People’s attitudes to security and risk also changed. If a job in a big organisation can so easily disappear, it seems less attractive. Better to create your own.
For physicians, read: "The social contract between society and physicianhood has been broken" and "If we're no longer valued to the point that plumbers make more on an hourly basis, our dedication and medical school debt seem pointless. Better look elsewhere."
Is physician entrepreneurship an idea whose time has come?
