As I emphasized in last night's monthly Business Development teleclass (which had it's biggest registration ever!), the trick to overcoming that sick-to-the-stomach intense discomfort about "selling" is to flourish as an educator. This is a natural fit for physicians -- you are born and trained to influence and persuade through teaching your patients (when you are permitted to do so by your overburdened schedules!!)
When you share -- give away -- your knowledge and expertise (which is in abundant supply in most physicians), you are regarded as a trusted advisor and Expert. This in turn attracts prospective patients or clients to your services and products.
Sonia Simone over at Brian Clark's CopyBlogger has assembled a comprehensive list of ideas for possible educational marketing activities (they call it Content Marketing, but I've translated it my way) to help your business get the attention it deserves.
From newsletters to blogging to white papers, free e-courses, teleclasses, podcasts and Facebook pages -- there are more than enough ideas to stimulate your thinking. If some of these ideas need translation, drop me an email and I'll do my best :-)
I encourage you to browse them all ... and then get active in producing an inspired marketing plan for your physician business!!
Have I hammered this home enough yet?
